Food Day Canada (to be held on Saturday, August 5th, 2017) is a chance for all Canadians to join hands in one massive celebration in praise of our farmers and fishers; our chefs and researchers… and, above all, our home cooks.
To celebrate, Spencer's will be featuring a Canadian Seafood Bake all weekend long!
Chef Dave has shared the recipe so that you can enjoy this delicious Canadian dish at home.
In a large stockpot, melt butter over medium-high heat. Add chopped onion and old bay spice. Sweat onions until translucent, about 6 minutes. Add new potatoes and andouille sausage, stir to combine. Add Mill Street Organic beer (or beer of your choice) and bring to a simmer. Once beer is simmering, add lobsters to pot and cover tightly with a lid for about 6 minutes. Remove lid, add clams followed by mussels and corn. Cook until clams and mussels are open. Remove lobster from pot, crack claws and tail. Serve on large deep plater with drawn butter and warm bread for you and your guest to share.
